Pete Broadbridge - Instructor @ Fitjoy
My passion for health, fitness and nutrition completely stems from my own personal journey…
I’ve certainly had my challenges and successes, ups and downs, (who hasn’t) but it was early this year when, after a few key life-changing moments happened in my life and in the lives of close friends around me, I decided that it was time for a change.
I was never much into sports or fitness growing up…I was THAT kid. The kid at school that “forgot his PE kit” or “had a letter from his parents excusing him from PE” so it might seem surprising that my career is now completely based around the thing that I hated most when I was younger. Here’s the thing though…I was a little clumsy when it came to playing sport. I had numerous growth spurts that made me taller and taller (my long legged peers will probably empathise with how coordination and being tall don’t necessarily go hand in hand), but most of all…I didn’t have someone who was patient and understanding enough to take the time and show me proper form, posture and technique.
Having been a gym attendee and boot camp participant over the years, I gradually learnt more about what worked well for my body and also what didn’t. I finally achieved the result that I was after and this inspired me to learn more. That inspiration turned into aspiration which then became a passion to want to support and help others!
After a fair amount of hard work and dedication, I’m now a qualified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Exercise Referral Instructor.
I’ve met some incredibly inspiring people at Fitjoy having been a client myself for some time so I’m really excited to now be instructing too! I look forward to seeing you at one of my classes or one to one in a Personal Training session soon!
