Danny Watts -Instructor @ Fitjoy
Growing up on the Island of Guernsey I was lucky enough to play many different sports and spent my free time trying to be the next superstar. Naturally, I studied a sports course at college before obtaining a BA (Hons) in Sports Development from the University of Chichester in 2013.
As long as I can remember I have had two passions; helping others and sport, in particular, football. Like most teenage boys and young men who love sport, I thought health and fitness were measured on how good I was at playing it. At 21 years old it all changed, when I suffered a severe knee injury playing football, and following 3 operations I was told I had a 50/50 chance of being able to run again and that playing any standard of sport would be a long shot. To give myself the very best chance I invested in health and fitness by researching, modifying and developing exercises, and eventually applying a nutrition strategy. After 24 months of rehabilitation, I ran on to the pitch again and continue to do so.
My goal is to get people fit for their purpose and the things they enjoy, whilst having fun. I live for the buzz for when someone says thank you for helping them run out onto their pitch.
