Stretch Pilates is a form of exercise which is suitable for virtually anyone – regardless of age (18+), gender or fitness ability. Using a variety of mat-based exercises which focus on creating a strong ‘centre’ or ‘core’ from which to work the rest of the body, Pilates aims to improve overall body alignment and posture – making it particularly beneficial for sufferers of back/joint problems. Pilates exercises work to balance out the body by both strengthening the muscles and improving flexibility in the joints and is also a great way to help tone up all over. The controlled movement, breathing and relaxation de-stresses the mind and gives participants a renewed sense of well-being and an increased sense of body awareness.
