Can be eaten as a side dish or as a main with vegetables
Chop one onion into a mixing bowl
Drain one jar/ packet of brown lentils of its liquid (Keep container)
Fill up the lentil container with porridge oats, tip into bowl
Stir in one large carton ( or two small) of tomato purée (Sometimes called passata ,I think)
Give a good mix. Should be the consistency of porridge. If too thick add a little water.
Grease with margarine or butter a loaf tin then line it with greaseproof paper
Tip mixture in and level it off
Cook in oven at 180 for about 1/2 an hour or until firm on the top
Allow to cool in the tin then tip out and serve sliced.
